Welcome!  I'm Rachel.

My career as a therapist began in childhood, with friends and strangers telling me their troubles at the playground, on the subway, in checkout lines, and any place else that lended itself for a quick conversation! From a young age, people felt comfortable talking to me and I enjoyed listening. After 17 years as a therapist, I am still incredibly grateful that people see me as a genuine, trustworthy person and can let me into their worlds.  My compassionate connection to humans is what continues to drive me and what will serve as the basis for healing in our work.

I received my  B.A. in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal, QU and my Masters in Counseling from George Mason University, in VA. Over the past 25 years, I have worked with individuals across the lifespan with a broad range of mental health struggles.  I specialize in treating anxiety and stress and also regularly work with mood disorders, loss and trauma, executive functioning challenges, life transitions, and parenting.  I am EMDR trained and credentialed as a meditation teacher. Taking an eclectic approach to counseling, I draw on strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-oriented counseling, Narrative therapy, neuroscience, and EMDR. Alongside counseling, I enjoy leading supportive mental health workshops that have now reached thousands of employees in businesses, schools, and town offices across New England.
